Biography
Formed in North Carolina during 1995 as a punk revival group, My So-Called Band began with bassist/vocalist Chris Peigler, guitarist Luke Warm, and drummer Patrick Korson. The trio’s self-titled debut appeared on Yesha in 1997. Korson soon departed to relocate southward and was succeeded by Chris Bean. The five-song EP Presidential Lust, noted for its topical content, arrived the following year. After Ryan McGinnis was added on second guitar and instructed in the band’s repertoire, Luke Warm withdrew entirely from both the group and music. Chris Bean exited shortly afterward. Chris Loebs was subsequently recruited to fill the vacancy, and the revised lineup recorded The Punk Girl Next Door in 2000 with production assistance from David Barbe, whose prior work includes Mercyland, Sugar, and Buzz Hungry.
