Mexican-descendant singer Myra achieved her first major break by serving as an opener for teen pop sensation Aaron Carter during February 2001, after her cover of the classic “Dancing in the Street” landed on the soundtrack of the animated film Recess: School's Out. Born and raised in the U.S., she expressed consistent pride in her Latin heritage and absorbed both traditional Mexican music and dance-pop while growing up. At age 15 she completed her debut album, which included the track “Miracles Happen (When You Believe)” from the Princess Diaries movie soundtrack. Myra later took her first acting role in the motion picture Max Keesle's Big Move.
