Biography
Myron Glasper and Eric Cooke make up the retro-soul vocal duo Myron & E. A South Central Los Angeles native, Glasper entered the industry in the early '90s by dancing on episodes of In Living Color and supplying background vocals on recording sessions for MC Lyte and CeCe Peniston. Cooke, who grew up in Newark, New Jersey, established himself as a DJ and producer. The pair first met while on tour with Blackalicious, yet they waited to launch their duo until Cooke enlisted Glasper to write and sing over tracks laid down by Finnish retro-soul band the Soul Investigators. Myron & E issued their debut single, "Cold Game," in 2008 on the Soul Investigators' Timmion label. Now-Again, a Stones Throw subsidiary, then licensed the 7" for American release. In 2010 the group followed with "It's a Shame," "On Broadway," and "Pot Club," the last of which appeared on Timmion offshoot Nite Club. Still supported by the Soul Investigators, Myron & E recorded the album Broadway, which Stones Throw released in July 2013.
