Biography
The alternative pop band the Mysteries of Life formed in Bloomington, Indiana, under the leadership of married couple singer/guitarist Jake Smith and drummer Freda Love, both previously members of Antenna. Keyboardist Dale Lawrence, bassist Kenny Childers, and drummer LonPaul Ellrich completed the group. Their first release arrived as the single "Kira," which led to a deal with RCA and the 1996 album Keep a Secret. Two indie EPs, Focus on the Background and Anonymous Tip, later paved the way for the full-length Come Clean in 1998.
