Biography
Emerging from Southwest High School in Green Bay, WI during the final years of the 1990s, the Mystery Girls coalesced as a proto-punk garage band whose ragged, fervent style leans heavily on blues roots while straddling the mid-1960s and the opening decade of the twenty-first century, rendering any label of straightforward revivalism imprecise. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2002 on Trick Knee Records in both LP and CD editions, with the sophomore effort Something in the Water following in 2004 on the LA-based imprint In the Red. By the arrival of the third album, Incontinopia, issued again by In the Red in 2008, the roster featured guitarists Matt Conger and Jordan Davis, vocalist Casey Grajek, drummer Jamis Kipp, and bassist Michael Zink.
