Biography
Formed in Dublin as a pop outfit aimed at teenage listeners, Mytown showcased vocalist and pianist Paul Walker alongside vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Danny O'Donoghue and vocalists plus guitarists Marc Sheehan and Terry Daly. The four musicians first crossed paths in 1996 while attending the Diggers Lane performing arts school, where they quickly began harmonizing as a unit. Following early attention across the U.K., the ensemble gained exposure through U.S. television slots and a contribution to the Snow Day soundtrack, then issued the single "Now That I Found You." Their debut album, titled simply Mytown, arrived in the middle of 2000, yet the band had already split apart by 2001. O'Donoghue and Sheehan moved briefly to Los Angeles to take on production work, later heading back to Ireland to launch the pop-rock trio the Script, which achieved considerable success. After a short illness, Sheehan passed away on April 14, 2023, at age 46.
