Biography
Namelessnumberheadman blend lo-fi pop with indie rock in an unrestricted style, producing an upbeat, dance-oriented texture built around multiple distinctive keyboards. The project stems from Andrew Sallee, Chuck Whittington, and Jason Lewis, three Kansas City natives who grew up together and have frequently collaborated on recordings and songwriting. Lewis joined only in 2000, an addition that finalized both the group’s membership and its chosen name after earlier versions had existed without him. Their first demo EP, 100,000 Subtle Times, appeared shortly afterward, yet the ensuing period was devoted to reshaping the material toward a more avant-garde, atmospheric direction. That evolution shaped the follow-up full-length, When We Leave, We Will Know Where We’ve Been, which surfaced in summer 2002.
