Biography
The Native Sons emerged as a St. Paul, Minnesota quartet whose driving purpose was to resurrect the psychedelic pop and rock of the 1960s. Guitarists M.J. Ihrig and Michael Sherwin, bassist Waldman, and drummer Ross Hanover formed the band in 1987, then shifted operations to Los Angeles in 1990, where their retro-psych sound and three-part vocal harmonies steadily attracted a large audience. Returning to the Twin Cities area in 1993, the group secured a contract with October Records and issued its debut album, Lost in Time, in 1994.
