Necromancia came together in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, during 1985 and quickly earned recognition as one of the nation’s first purveyors of thrash metal. Their previously regional profile expanded in 1988 when Fucker Records issued a recording of their 1987 performance at Santo André’s Municipal Theatre; although multiple acts appeared on both the bill and the resulting album, Necromancia generated the strongest response. The group’s earliest lineup featured Marcelo Indio Di Castro on guitar and vocals, Roberto Fornero on bass, and Kiko Di Castro, Edgar ‘Budega’ Gerbelli, and César ‘Fubeka’ handling percussion duties. Percussionist André Cayres became a member in the mid-90s.
