Virginia rapper Nettspend blends trap elements with a densely layered and disorienting production method widely referred to as "jerk," crafting a sound that pushes the distortions and side effects of Auto-Tune into the foreground as the core of his shadowy, atmospheric rap tracks. He first appeared in 2022, and his debut mixtape from 2024, Bad Ass F*cking Kid, entered the Billboard 200.

Born Gunner Shepardson, he started posting tracks online in December 2022, soon after leaving high school during ninth grade. Breakthrough came swiftly the following year through the viral releases "Shine N Peace" and "Drankdrankdrank," leading to a March 2024 appearance at Rolling Loud Festival. The July 2024 single "That One Song" appeared briefly before removal over an uncleared Deftones sample, while Bad Ass F*cking Kid arrived in December 2024 and peaked at number 197 on the Billboard charts.
