Biography
George Wein gathered a rotating lineup of players to record for Concord under the Newport Jazz Festival All Stars name throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. Saxophonist Scott Hamilton and cornetist Warren Vache appeared among the core musicians, while saxophonist Al Cohn joined once as a special guest. The ensemble’s 1990 album documented a live performance from Bern in 1989, and its 1988 release preserved a 1987 concert taped in Switzerland.
