Niederflur

Christopher Bleckmann and Hannes Wenner, producers from Germany, launched their output under the Niederflur name in 2001 by issuing three minimal techno EPs on Richie Hawtin's M_nus label. The project's title references the low-floor tram used to navigate the U-Bahn subway network running through Cologne, the city where the pair is based, and they folded ambient recordings from those trains—including PA announcements—into their precise, hypnotic pieces. M_nus released ND4 in 2002, a CD compilation assembling the duo's work from the prior year. Bleckmann and Wenner have also released as Clubsessel on the K20 label and as Misc. on Force Tracks.
