Biography
Originating from Canada, Nigel Good—whose birth name is Nigel Goodfellow—first took up the piano at age five. An early fascination with electronic sounds followed, centering especially on trance figures Chicane and BT. By eleven he was already experimenting as a producer, crafting trance material inside Fasttracker, the mid-’90s sequencer that functioned solely with the then-standard Creative SoundBlaster soundcards. Those home-recorded pieces gained traction, climbing the charts of the now-defunct mp3.com platform that once served independent artists seeking wider exposure.
Throughout adolescence Good continued sharpening an electronic style anchored by his primary fascination: outer space. A succession of well-received mp3 singles issued on Silk Royal during the early 2010s led to his first album-length statement, the 2014 release Nothing Out Here. The EDM world commended that debut for the breadth of styles it encompassed.
While maintaining a daytime role as a schoolteacher, Good delivered the follow-up album Space Cadet in late 2015 via the Monstercat label. Guests on the record included the Australian duo Illuminor, Russian producer Mango, South African producer Andre Frauenstein, and the Norwegian trio Fenomenon.
