Biography
Hailing from London as a dramatic and richly textured indie rock quartet, Night Flight made their entrance in 2017 amid comparisons to the War on Drugs, Elbow, and Fleet Foxes. Their acclaimed self-titled debut album surfaced at the close of 2018, uniting the material from two earlier EPs.
The project first took shape through initial recordings by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Samuel Holmes, after which Harry Phillips on guitar and vocals, Oliver Halvorson on bass, and Dan Webb on drums came aboard to flesh out the expanding arrangements. Issued on the U.K. indie label CRC Music, the 2017 EP Wanderlust earned critical accolades for its cinematic sound and tightly crafted studio approach. The subsequent EP Carousel extended that momentum through the opening months of 2018 before being merged with Wanderlust plus two fresh tracks, yielding the band’s eponymous full-length debut that December.
