Biography
The Nightcaps, retro-hipsters who fused jazz, swing, and cabaret, distinguished themselves swiftly from most other acts signed to Sub Pop. Vocalist Theresa Hannam, guitarist Garth Brandenburg, upright bassist Robert Fucci, percussionist John Broeckel, and drummer Dan Cunneen made up the lineup, and the ensemble introduced itself on record with Split in early 1998.
