Biography
Nineteen Wheels, a heartland rock unit, came together in East Lansing, MI, during 1994, drawing members from several disbanded local acts. Vocalist Chris Johnston and guitarist Scott Owens had previously performed with the Hannibals, bassist Tim Marzorati arrived from YMI, and drummer Greg Williams had played in Gone Dog. The group first put out an independently released EP called The Tempermill Recordings before securing a deal with the AWARE label, which released the quartet’s debut full-length album, Six Ways From Sunday, in 1997.
