Biography
The Virginia bluegrass outfit No Speed Limit first took shape as a trio when banjoist Steve Barr began informal sessions alongside bassist Jacob Eller and vocalist Amber Collins, then just sixteen years old. Local interest soon prompted the addition of guitarist Josh Pickett, already recognized as the Merlefest National Guitar Champion in 2001, together with mandolinist Ryan Blevins, rounding out the lineup. Assisted by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, the group issued its debut recording, Bluegrass Lullaby, in 2005; the following year Arhoolie brought out Sweet Virginia, captured live at the Blue Ridge Music Center near Galax, VA.
