Noemy

Noemy Torres Esparza, a Latin singer and songwriter, launched her professional path at fifteen. Like many emerging performers, she entered multiple competitions, among them New Mexico's All-State and a slot representing Banda Marchanta at Zia Festival; those appearances drew her into the entertainment industry. A scholarship from New Mexico University prompted her to pursue music studies that expanded her earlier training on classical flute and opera. Participation in the university chorus later took her to Spain. Eager to sing professionally, the young artist accepted nighttime vocal work to finance recordings of her first songs. Fonovisa eventually signed her, resulting in the 1996 album Eternamente and its hit single "Mentiras." Encadenada followed a year later, with Armando Sueños y Esperanzas appearing in 1999.
