Biography
Formed in 1997, Brooklyn's North Sea Story introduced an emotional brand of alternative rock. Graphic designer by day Chris Standish, who goes by Dish, assembled the first configuration alongside Paul Fitzgerald, Rance Piatt, and Dave Brown before capturing a demo with Charles Bissell of the Wrens. Once their debut Working for Wellness was finished, Dave Brown exited and the remaining trio began touring. Members continued to leave during sessions for the next album until Dish remained the only constant. He completed the record with help from musicians in the Hold Steady and Maplewood, allowing Rebuilding Season to appear in 2002.
