Since its 1986 inception Numb has cycled through multiple personnel configurations, yet Don Gordon has remained the sole enduring presence. Gordon assembled the project in Vancouver, where the cassette-only Blue Light surfaced in 1987. A self-titled album followed with a local release in 1988; four years later Belgium’s Kk Records gave that same recording wider distribution. Oceana issued the Christmeister LP in 1990, after which the band shifted to Re-Constriction and delivered Death on the Installment Plan in 1992. The live set Koro, issued exclusively in Japan, appeared in 1996, and Numb’s fourth proper full-length, Blood Meridian, emerged the following year.
