Biography
In 1971 the gospel-rock group Ocean moved more than a million copies of its debut single “Put Your Hand in the Hand,” drawn from the album bearing the same title, throughout both the United States and the members’ homeland of Canada. Greg Brown supplied vocals and keyboards, Jeff Jones played bass and sang, Janice Brown and Dave Tamblyn handled guitar, and Chuck Slater sat behind the drums. Although further singles appeared in the first half of the decade, none approached the commercial impact of that opening release. Ocean ceased operations in 1975.
