Biography
Offonoff emerged in 2016 as a duo that fused relaxed hip-hop textures with introspective R&B composition. The pair first appeared through a run of unhurried singles before sharpening their sound on the 2017 album Boy. DJ and producer 0Channel joined vocalist Colde to establish the project that same year, drawing on their shared connections to the wide-ranging Club Eskimo Crew. Their early output centered on airy, frequently piano-led R&B numbers, occasionally inviting fellow crew members to add vocal features. Colde had previously worked in passing with BTS’s RM, although that material never surfaced. The duo joined HIGHGRND, a YG Entertainment imprint, and issued their opening single “bath” in September 2016. A follow-up, “photograph,” arrived next, and in 2017 they delivered the full-length Boy, which reached number 27 on the Gaon chart. The set’s modest success came via the catchy track “Cigarette,” which included appearances by Tablo and MISO.
