Biography
Bay Area rapper Offset Jim lays bare the realities of crime and drug dealing through lyrics delivered in an icy, detached monotone. His initial appearances came via childhood friend ALLBLACK, after which he contributed guest verses to tracks by G-Eazy and Nef the Pharaoh before releasing his first full-length project, Rich Off the Pack, in 2021.
Raised on Oakland’s east side, Offset Jim drew early inspiration from Cash Money roster acts including the Hot Boys, fellow Bay Area voices such as the Jacka and E-40, and DMX. He entered rap after ALLBLACK brought him into the studio; that collaboration yielded his recorded debut on the 2017 mixtape No Shame 2. Soon afterward Jim aligned with the Oakland collective Play Runners Association and kept appearing on cuts with ALLBLACK, YID, and additional artists. In 2019 he dropped the EP No Pressure, followed later that year by the joint release 22nd Ways alongside ALLBLACK. Further features surfaced on recordings by G-Eazy, ShooterGang Kony, and Nef the Pharaoh. Rich Off the Pack surfaced in 2021, introduced by the Kenny Beats-produced single “Face Card.”
