Fronted by singer-songwriter Olivia Rose Huebner, the indie rock outfit Oh, Rose operates out of Washington and weaves her gliding, swooning vocals through layers of melodic rawness, spacious textures, and raw emotional release. Emerging from the D.I.Y. community in Olympia, the group put out an early independent EP along with a mini-album before inking a deal with Park the Van, the label that put forth their debut full-length, While My Father Sleeps, in 2019.

Huebner, originally from Asheville, North Carolina, launched Oh, Rose in 2014 once she had relocated to Olympia for studies at The Evergreen State College. At first operating as a duo alongside drummer Liam Hindahl, she tracked the five-song EP That Do Now See in June 2014, after which the project grew into a quartet via bassist-singer Kevin Christopher and synth player Sarah Redden. With that lineup locked in, Oh, Rose captured the 2015 mini-album Seven for a self-released rollout the same year.

The ensemble kept sharpening its approach through steady touring until securing an agreement with Park the Van Records ahead of the first long-player. Issued in August 2019, the intimate While My Father Sleeps drew directly from the loss of Huebner’s mother two years earlier.
