Old Dogs

The Old Dogs originated as a supergroup uniting country music legends Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Bobby Bare, and Jerry Reed. Their creation began when Bare expressed dissatisfaction to author Shel Silverstein over the scarcity of worthwhile songs about growing old. Silverstein responded by writing a full album's worth of material on the topic, and those compositions served as the foundation for the group's 1998 debut on Atlantic Records.
