Biography
Olivia Lunny, the Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, crafts a dynamic alt-pop sound that weaves in folktronica textures alongside infectious dance-pop grooves. Her first major breakthrough arrived in 2019 via the breakout single “I Got You,” followed two years later by her self-titled debut long-player, which contained the hit “Sad to See You Happy.” In 2023 she delivered the EP Heartbreak on Repeat, spotlighting the Billboard-charting single “Fix This.”
Lunny began playing guitar at age 12 and started composing original material the next year, drawing early inspiration from Norah Jones and Coldplay. She self-released her debut EP, also self-titled, in 2018, then gained wider attention the following year after dropping “I Got You” and claiming first place on season two of the music competition The Launch. The 2020 EP To the Ones I Loved arrived next, housing the singles “Think of Me” and the heartfelt acoustic ballad “Bedsheets.” After signing with Universal Music Canada she issued “Sad to See You Happy,” which appeared on her 2021 full-length debut. A trio of 2022 singles included the empowering collaboration “Vibe Check” with Bhad Bhabie, setting the stage for the five-song EP Heartbreak on Repeat the next year. That project featured the chart-toppers “Time Zone” and “Fix This,” the latter recorded with platinum-selling hitmaker Bryce Vine.
