Biography
Formed during the mid-1990s, Danish ensemble On Trial unites vocalist Bo Morthen Petersen with guitarists Anders Skjodt and Henrik, bassist Nikolaj Lykkenielsen, and drummer/organist Guf "Lorenzo Woodrose" Lorentzen. Although their start came later, the musicians deliver psychedelic sounds that recall late-'60s bands such as Love and 13th Floor Elevators. Their catalog comprises 1995's Seventy Kilometers of Underwater Nothingness, 1997's Head Entrance, 1999's New Day Rising, and the limited-edition live set Psychedelic Freakout Party issued in 2000. After a hiatus prompted by other projects undertaken by Lorentzen and Skjodt with Baby Woodrose, the group resumed work to complete 2002's Blinded by the Sun for Tee Pee Records, then issued an album of covers titled simply Head the following year. The aptly named Live surfaced in 2004.
