Biography
While still enrolled in high school, the Hollywood pop-punk quartet Orange attracted the notice of Tim Armstrong—Rancid leader and Hellcat Records impresario—resulting in a contract with the label. Their earliest exposure arrived on the compilation Give 'Em the Boot, Vol. 4 through the track “No Rest for the Weekend,” with the full-length Welcome to the World of... following in August 2005. The lineup featured transplanted Brits Joe Dexter Denman on vocals and bass plus Jack Berglund on guitar, joined by California-raised Zak Glosserman on drums and Mike Valentine on guitar. Two years afterward, Jon Dering assumed Valentine’s guitar role as Orange issued Escape from L.A.
