Biography
Led by João Donato, the short-lived early bossa nova ensemble Os Namorados nonetheless made history by unveiling the bossa nova rhythm for the first time in their 1953 recording "Eu Quero Um Samba." Emerging from the remains of the Brazilian samba outfits Os Modernistas and Namorados da Lua, the group issued just a single self-titled EP on 78 rpm.
