Biography
Anthony Nigro and Colin Wyatt, friends since childhood, established Osgoods prior to finishing high school under the sway of then-current 1980s pop. Their collaboration endured through shared college years in Tuscon, AZ, with Nigro on vocals and guitar and Wyatt on drums. Songwriting matured in that setting, shaped by the ringing guitars of R.E.M. and the Feelies, which also led to early live appearances. To enter Tuscon’s local scene, Nigro and Wyatt next recruited a bassist. After issuing Watch Repair EP (1996) and Assistant Manager EP (1998), the band—now joined by bassist David Jurs—relocated to Los Angeles in 1998. Once settled in L.A., added vocal harmonies and experimental touches expanded the sound, fully realized on the Automatic Do-Over album.
