O'Shea

The country-pop duo O’Shea, an Australian-born pair now based in Nashville, Tennessee, came together in 2007 once singer/songwriters Mark and Jay O’Shea converted their 15-year romance into marriage. Mark had launched his career at 16 by winning a talent quest and went on to top the Australian country charts as both songwriter and performer throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s, appearing alongside Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, and Switchfoot. Jay, for her part, began as a backup singer for INXS and Tim Rice before serving as a staff writer in London, Los Angeles, and Nashville, where she secured a number-one European single titled “Little Miss H” for Spanish megastar Chenoa. Soon after their wedding the couple began performing live together and issued their debut album under the O’Shea name—the aptly titled Mr. and Mrs.—in 2011.
