Overcast

Metalcore pioneers Overcast came together in Boston, MA, during 1991, built around bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarists Pete Cortese and Scott McCooe, vocalist Brian Fair, and drummer Jay Fitzgerald. Their opening 7", Bleed into One, surfaced in 1992 through Exchange Records and led into the full-length Expectational Dilution two years later. Additional 7" singles followed in 1995 and 1996 before the band delivered the 1997 album Fight Ambition to Kill. A disappointing tour prompted their understated 1998 breakup, after which the musicians joined other groups including Shadows Fall (Fair), Killswitch Engage (D'Antonio), Seemless (Cortese), Transient (McCooe), and Tunnel Drill (Fitzgerald). The lineup reconvened in 2008 to issue Reborn to Kill Again on Metal Blade, an album containing re-recorded versions of favored band and fan tracks together with two fresh originals.
