Biography
Formed in Madison, Wisconsin, the collective Pale Young Gentlemen launched as a bedroom trio made up of brothers Michael Reisenauer and Matt Reisenauer together with multi-instrumentalist Brett Randall. Milwaukee bassist Andrew Brawner and cellist Elizabeth Weamer joined shortly afterward, shifting the project from private rehearsals into local clubs. The group ascended the local circuit at a brisk pace, securing support slots for Beach House and the Clientele while simultaneously finishing work on its self-titled debut. Following that album’s arrival in late 2006, the members devoted the balance of the year to relentless touring aimed at spreading awareness of the record. Black Forest (Tra La La) appeared in 2008.
