Biography
Before establishing himself as a prominent producer for eccentric veteran rock performers such as Brian Wilson and Jerry Lee Lewis, along with pop groups like NRBQ and Greenberry Woods, Andy Paley joined forces with his sibling Jonathan during 1978 to create the power pop duo known as the Paley Brothers. That year saw the release of their self-titled album, which achieved limited commercial success yet remains cherished among enthusiasts of power pop. Rhino included the duo’s “Come Out and Play” on its D.I.Y.: Come Out and Play: American Power Pop (1975-78) collection. Additionally, the Paley Brothers collaborated with the Ramones on the track “C’Mon Let’s Go,” which appeared on the Rock ’N’ Roll High School soundtrack. Although the Paley Brothers produced no further albums, the siblings reunited for select projects over the years, including a 1980 appearance together on a Nervous Eaters recording and Jonathan’s bass performance in 1995 on the Jerry Lee Lewis album overseen by Andy.
