Drawing from sources as varied as Krautrock, punk, and 1960s psychedelia, Paperhaus crafts layered and adventurous indie rock. The Washington, D.C.-based trio began in 2006 when childhood companions Alex Tebeleff, Jeff Galfond, and Eduardo Rivera joined forces. After steady East Coast gigs and ongoing studio refinement, they issued the EPs Living Is Easy (2009), Paperhaus (2011), and Lo Hi Lo (2013) ahead of their first full-length effort. Released by Huge Witch in 2015, that self-titled debut album marked their initial long-form statement. The band then shifted to Misra Records for the 2017 follow-up Are These the Questions That We Need to Ask?, which featured Tebeleff joined by local scene veterans Matt Dowling and Rick Irby.
