Biography
Paralysed Age established its place among new millennium goth rock acts through a darkwave style reminiscent of the Cruxshadows and VNV Nation. The trio of Marco Neumann, Stefan Kirsch, and Michael Knust channeled familiar goth elements into vampire-themed songs that echo the sinister atmospheres of Bram Stoker and Edgar Allen Poe. In 2000 the band issued its U.S. debut, Empire of the Vampire, which drew together tracks from two earlier German releases. The club favorite “Bloodsucker” also appeared on the soundtrack compilation Music From the Succubus Club for Vampire: the Masquerade, issued in fall 2000.
