Biography
Paul Arthurs, famed as Bonehead the second guitarist for Oasis throughout the band's '90s heyday, joined forces with songwriter and writer Alan Wilkes, who records as Vinny Peculiar after earlier work with iconoclasts such as Bill Drummond and Luke Haines. The resulting Manchester-based duo, Parlour Flames, explores the heady territory between traditional guitar rock and wordy, literate pop. Arthurs and Wilkes began their partnership in 2012, the former handling the music and the latter the words, and issued their first single, "Manchester Rain"/"Something & Nothing," on April 20, 2013 (aka Record Store Day); not long afterward the group's self-titled debut appeared on Cherry Red Records.
