Biography
In the summer of 2005, high-school friends Ray Proudfoot and Keenan Dowers established the initial groundwork for Patience Please. Bassist Jordan Michelman and drummer Chris McFarlane, who had founded indiepages.com, soon joined the group, enabling the quartet to shape a bright, quirky power pop style reminiscent of Elf Power and the Apples in Stereo. Their first EP, Parallel Plots, appeared on McFarlane’s Jigsaw Records in fall 2006; to close out the year, Patience Please toured the Pacific Northwest alongside Vera Project and Three Imaginary Girls. The band signed with Happy Happy Birthday to Me in 2007, and the label issued their debut album, Fleeting Frequencies, that autumn.
