Biography
Paul Christian, a singer and songwriter rooted in the Chicago region, fuses a Midwestern brand of Americana with the tuneful drive of power pop. Although he performed with groups during his earlier decades, his first solo recording arrived only after middle age, channeling years of accumulated material into the 2018 album American Dream and its 2020 successor, That's Everything.
Christian entered the world in Berwyn, Illinois, and spent his childhood shifting among Chicagoland communities including Brookfield and Arlington Heights. As a teenager fixated on rock, he mastered guitar and additional instruments on his own, drawing foundational influence from 1970s giants such as Led Zeppelin and Rush. Multiple local band experiences and a talent for inventive songcraft were eventually set aside in favor of marriage and raising children. He nevertheless sustained his development in private, steadily expanding a collection of musical sketches and refining his technique. Once his children reached adulthood, the accumulated body of work spanned rugged Americana, folk-rock, and the guitar-driven style of classic Beatlesque pop. In 2018, aided by the Illinois label and publishing firm Salvatori Productions, he issued his debut album, American Dream, which garnered favorable notice. Capitalizing on that response and drawing from an ample reserve of fresh compositions, he delivered the follow-up That's Everything two years afterward.
