Biography
From an early age the Peruvian rock performer Pedro Suárez-Vértiz drew inspiration from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones while already composing elaborate meditations on existence and kinship. After earning a communication sciences degree at Lima University, he combined his command of language with his devotion to rock to launch a professional music path. His initial group was Paranoia, yet genuine recognition arrived with Arena Hash, a collective of more seasoned musicians that produced the albums Arena Hash and El Rey de Ah Ah Ah. In 1993 Pedro Suárez-Vértiz struck out alone and issued his debut solo album No Existen Técnicas Para Olvidar. Two years later came the follow-up Póntelo en la Lengua, succeeded in 1999 by Degeneración Actual. Pedro Suárez-Vértiz died on December 28, 2023, at the age of 54.
