Biography
Peilomat originated as a rock band in Hamburg, Germany in 2004, its members uniting through connections at the Academy of Music in that harbor city. Their debut concert occurred that October inside a modest Cologne venue. The 2005 German Rock Prize win in the DRMV Junior Competition—the German Rock & Pop Musician's Association—led directly to a five-song demo EP. Further live work included shared bills with Reamonn and Revolverheld, setting the stage for the 2007 release of their top-100 debut single “Grossstadtkinder” (Big City Kids) and a matching self-titled album. The remainder of the year was spent touring Germany, after which the Rhineland entrants reached thirteenth place in the German National Song Competition with the track “Jenny”.
