Biography
Permanent Ability emerged in 2008 as a commercially minded alt-rock outfit launched by Emmy Award-winning television producer Brian Lanese. The Los Angeles quartet—bassist Steve “Dino” Andino, guitarist Nick Gordon, and drummer Gary Rinaldi—features Lanese as frontman, where he delivers shouted rap vocals across a blend of funk grooves and high-energy rock. Drawing primary inspiration from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against the Machine, the group recruited former Parliament Funkadelic bassist Lige Curry as a guest musician for their debut EP, From the Womb to Hollywood. Two years later, Jim Wirt—who had previously helmed projects for No Doubt and Hoobastank—produced the band’s first full-length album, Bring It On.
