Pet

Pet originated in Berlin as a multinational indie pop outfit of sorts when producer Andre Abshagen established the project. The upbeat electro-pop ensemble, known for its relaxed groove, delivered the debut album Player One Ready in 2004. After signing with the London-based Groenland Records imprint, the group immediately started developing a second full-length. Rewind the Sofa Lady arrived in 2006 and generated still greater attention, as its lead single earned rotation on England’s Xfm while also serving as the opening theme on John Peel’s radio program. Although Abshagen had first envisioned the endeavor as a solo outlet, membership expanded over time; by the sophomore album the lineup incorporated fellow Berliner Miss Mono on vocals, keyboards, and synths, Sardinian bassist Stefania Vacca, and Milanese drummer Dodo Nkishi. In 2008 Pet began work on a third album carrying the working title Very Important.
