Biography
Peter Doherty & the Puta Madres, an indie group of French and British origins, gathers an eclectic roster of players to deliver loose-limbed, strutting indie songs.
The ensemble came together in 2016, launching early rehearsals during gaps in The Libertines’ touring calendar. Doherty recruited Jack Jones, Trampoline’s lead vocalist, to handle guitar, his girlfriend Katia DeVidas for keyboards and backing vocals, Michael Bontemps (Miggles) on bass, Miki Beavis on strings, and Rafa, a onetime gypsy street drummer first encountered by Doherty in Spain, behind the kit. In 2018 the musicians withdrew to the French fishing village of Melun to cut their self-titled debut album, issued the following year.
