Péterfy Bori & Love Band

After Amorf Ördögök, the Budapest junk-pop heroes, disbanded, Hungarian singer and actress Péterfy Bori launched Péterfy Bori & Love Band and reassembled several musicians from her earlier project. The group fused sharp indie rock with infusions of pop, electronic textures, chanson, and reggae, propelling their self-titled 2007 debut to major success across Hungary and eventual platinum certification. Later efforts 2 (2009) and 2B (2010) likewise performed strongly in the marketplace, securing the Love Band’s lasting prominence. Bori’s fusion of glamour with underground edge, together with the ensemble’s inventive arrangements, earned consistent critical favor, and the quartet’s fourth release, 2012’s Fehér Ejszakák, received a 2013 Phonogram Prize nomination for Best Alternative Album. Following the 2016 album Szédülés, the Love Band marked a decade of collaboration with the 2017 set Bori X.
