Originating from Buenos Aires, Pfirter now works as a techno producer based in Barcelona. His output began in the mid-2000s through a run of digital releases on his own MindTrip Music imprint, evolving over time from spare minimal club material toward deeper and more expansive sonic explorations. Regular international touring has placed him at venues and festivals worldwide, where he has become a regular presence at longstanding institutions including Tresor and Berghain in Berlin along with Paris’s Concrete. After issuing numerous singles and EPs via CLR, Stroboscopic Artefacts, and Figure, he delivered his first full-length album, the intricate and nearly psychedelic The Empty Space, in 2019; Altered States appeared two years later, while recent EPs such as Expander and Focus have further pursued the cosmic dimensions of the genre.

Juan Pablo Pfirter began his career at age fifteen as a radio DJ in his native city before moving into club performances and production work. He formed the duo Reflex with Pablo Snels for joint projects while also issuing solo material, and he first traveled to Europe for live dates in 2005. The following year he founded MindTrip Music, initially putting out digital EPs under his own name and as Plan Tec alongside Jonas Kopp. Two vinyl EPs followed on Stockholm LTD in 2008, with additional 12-inch releases appearing on Figure and Polar Noise in 2009 alongside a digital collaboration with Monoloc on Synewave. Pfirter material surfaced on Chris Liebing’s CLR, DMOM, and Stroboscopic Artefacts throughout 2010, after which he maintained ties to Stroboscopic through split singles shared with Dadub and Kangding Ray plus a remix of Xhin. The 2012 CLR release Sessions marked another joint effort with Monoloc, while MindTrip shifted to vinyl that same year beginning with Pfirter’s Fractales EP; most later output came through the label, among them New State of Consciousness in 2013 and Procyon in 2015. A split EP titled Seek with Kopp emerged on Pole Recordings in 2016, and the single “Defiance” returned him to Stockholm LTD in 2019.

MindTrip issued Pfirter’s debut album The Empty Space, his most experimental work to date, in March 2019. Later that year came the solo Dosis Multiple EP, after which 2020 brought collaborative releases such as El Fortin with Grindvik and Alpha with Oliver Rosemann. Tracks created during COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were issued as a series on his Paralelo label, and his second album, Altered States, arrived in 2021. Two Imagery EPs plus several others, including Expander, Fub Ak, and A Kingdom Falls, appeared throughout 2022, with Focus following in 2023.
