Biography
Phil Daniels, who starred as the central figure in the Who's 1979 motion picture Quadrophenia, has sustained a steady acting career across multiple mediums. His screen credits encompass the features Class Of Miss MacMichael, Zulu Dawn, Scum and Breaking Glass, while his television work includes the series Raven, Hanging Around Scum, Country Wife, Four Idle Hands, Sunnyside Farm and Sex, Clips And Rock'n'Roll. He has further performed in numerous stage productions mounted by the Royal Shakespeare Company and supplied a featured voice for the 2000 animated feature Chicken Run.
Early notice came through his lead guitar work and raw vocal delivery. During the late-1970s and early-80s he belonged to the British rock band Renoir and issued his first album, Phil Daniels = The Cross, in 1979. His initial acting appearance occurred in a BBC-TV adaptation of Verdi's Falstaff.
He trained at the Anna Scher Theatre School in Islington, England.
