Phyllis St. James

Phyllis St. James, a vocalist based in Los Angeles, composed numerous tracks throughout the initial years of the 1980s. Prior to securing her recording contract with Motown in 1984, she supplied material to Norman Connors, Jean Carne, Rodney Franklin, and The Jones Girls, among others. Once her solitary album failed to connect, St. James redirected her efforts to session contributions. Those efforts included background vocals on releases by Franklin, Randy Crawford, and Atlantic Starr, among additional projects.
