Biography
PicaPica, a British quartet, centers its harmonic blend and overall atmosphere on '60s West Coast pop fused with British folk elements. The group first appeared with the 2017 debut EP Spring & Shade.
Vocalists and singer/songwriters Josienne Clarke and Samantha Whates, who had already worked together for years after connecting on London's active acoustic circuit, formed the band alongside producer/engineer Sonny Johns and Scottish multi-instrumentalist Adam Beattie. Their affinity for sunshine pop, indie folk, and '60s West Coast Americana merged swiftly. Following the Rough Trade release of that initial EP, the quartet focused on tracking new material while also performing live shows throughout the U.K. Johns produced the resulting album Together & Apart, issued in mid-2019.
