pilotdrift

Known for an epic, orchestrated rock sound that draws frequent comparisons to Radiohead, Pilotdrift features the multi-instrumental talents of Kelly Carr, who serves as primary songwriter and vocalist, along with Jay Budzilowski, Ben Rice, Eric Russell, and John David Blagg. The group originated in Texarcana, TX, where they independently issued Iter Facere during 2004; this effort drew notice from Tim DeLaughter and Julie Doyle of the Polyphonic Spree and Good Records. As the initial act signed to Good Records besides the Polyphonic Spree, Pilotdrift subsequently performed alongside the expansive symphonic ensemble. Their follow-up record, Water Sphere, arrived in September 2005. To promote it, the musicians embarked on a North American trek alongside Supergrass at the start of 2006.
